Volunteers

Volunteers are welcome in both the Negros Forest Park and Bayawan Nature Reserve sites.

At Negros Forest Park you will learn about all of the aspects that make-up operating a high welfare conservation center, including; animal care, animal research, veterinary concerns, public engagement and education, site maintenance and more.

Requirements:

  • Age: 16+

  • Passion for wildlife and conservation

  • Eager to learn

  • Commitment: Minimum 3 days per week (or both Sat and Sun) for 10 weeks consecutive.

  • 9-4 operating hours (may change with schedule)

  • CV and cover letter

Volunteer in Bayawan Nature Reserve

At the Bayawan Nature Reserve you can learn and experience what it is like to be in the forefront of conservation. At a site where the Visayan spotted deer, Visayan warty pig and Visayan hornbill have all been released for the very first time on Negros. Work alongside 1) the research team as they study these species and more within the reserves forests, 2) the education team as they bring the conservation messaging of the reserve to the people of Bayawan, and 3) the ground team working to keep the reserve functioning and safe for the staff and animals within it.

Requirements:

  • Age: 21+

  • Passion for wildlife and conservation

  • Eager to learn

  • Responsible and dedicated

  • Commitment: 10 weeks or more onsite (this is a live-in position with accommodation onsite)

  • Flexible with work hours, as many jobs will require early starts or adjusting hours according to other people and weather

  • Physically fit to move across various terrain and slopes

  • Comfortable living in shared accommodation and working in close teams
