The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental recently partnered with Talarak Foundation, Inc. to implement an anti-hunting and poaching campaign within the Northern Negros Natural Park (NNNP). The campaign is also meant to develop and appreciation of our endemic flora and fauna within the park’s hinterland communities.
We received PhP 30,000.00 to launch a poster campaign that is much needed at the borders of the NNNP. With the help of the park’s Indigenous Community, local residents, and TFI representatives, these posters were installed throughout the park’s perimeter last October.
Other partners in this project are the Local Government Units around the Park, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, National Bureau of Investigation, and the Philippine Ports Authority.
By installing these posters, the communities have reported that there is a raised awareness throughout the Park. We also hope to stop Illegal Wildlife Trafficking at the ports with this campaign.
